Individual Counseling
GET SOMEONE WHO GETS YOU!
Individual counseling at Solid Sobriety is provided in a safe, caring, and confidential environment.
It’s an opportunity to focus on exploring your feelings, beliefs, or behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories, and identify aspects of your life that you would like to change.
Individual counseling helps you to better understand yourself and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change.
SHARING HELPS YOU TO HEAL
People seek therapy for a wide variety of reasons, from coping with major life challenges or childhood trauma, to dealing with depression or anxiety, to simply desiring personal growth and greater self-knowledge.
At Solid Sobriety, a client and therapist may work together for as few as five or six sessions or as long as several years, depending on your unique needs and personal goals for therapy.
HOW INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING WORKS
Early on, you will work with our therapist to set goals for your counseling sessions.
Establishing clear goals will provide direction as well as help you to monitor your progress in counseling. If you have any questions or concerns about the counseling process, don’t hesitate to bring these up with your clinician, who will be pleased to discuss them with you.
The exact direction of your counseling experience will depend on the issues you bring into counseling, your therapist’s perspective, and the goals you set for your work together.
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY BENEFITS YOU AFTER YOU COMPLETE COUNSELING
Research has shown that individual counseling results in fewer relapses of common conditions such as moderate depression and anxiety, and that the positive effects of good therapy extend well beyond treatment.
In fact, many clients report improved conditions long after therapy has ended. In general, individual therapy is often more effective than psychotropic drugs or medical treatments alone, which may cause harmful side effects.
In addition, many therapeutic modalities are evidence-based, meaning they have been subject to research studies and clinical observations, and they have been analyzed for effectiveness.
Obtaining a therapist for individual therapy could not be any easier.
